West Ham boss David Moyes has paid huge credit to Mauricio Pochettino before the clash against Chelsea this weekend.
David Moyes, 60, is a very experienced manager that has been the permanent boss at the London Stadium since 2019.
The Scottish coach is currently preparing his West Ham side for their first home game of the Premier League season, which is against close rivals Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
He’s offered some very kind words about his opposite number in the build-up to the London derby.
Mauricio Pochettino, who kickstarted his reign as Chelsea head coach with a draw against Liverpool last weekend, makes the short trip across London for his first away day.
West Ham’s Moyes has raved about the senior Chelsea man prior to kick-off:
“Mauricio Pochettino has been here before and knows the league well. He’s very experienced now and it’s always good to go up against the best managers. He’s in that bracket,” Moyes said, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Many Chelsea fans are now starting to reach the conclusion the club’s hierarchy got it spot on with the appointment of Pochettino this summer. Of course, he’ll ultimately be judged on performances and results as the season progresses.
The public noise coming out of the camp is that the Blues boss is well liked by his players. For example, Levi Colwill recently described Pochettino as a “world-class manager” that has been great with him, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Meanwhile, Chelsea signing Romeo Lavia admitted he’s really excited about working with Pochettino, as quoted by the club’s official website.
