Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is really pleased with how Levi Colwill has started this season.
Levi Colwill returned to Chelsea in the summer after his loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion and is already impressing Mauricio Pochettino.
Speaking to the club’s official website and reporters ahead of today’s game against Nottingham Forest, the Argentine said: “Levi is a player who performed really well last season, and at the Under-21 Euros, and now started the season really well with Chelsea.
“He is a big talent, a player who can play in different positions, centre-back and full-back. He is a great character. He is a great player and I’m happy for him. I’m hoping the next international break we have more players involved.”
Colwill has started in all three of Chelsea’s Premier League fixtures so far and featured in their Carabao Cup clash against AFC Wimbledon earlier this week.
Levi Colwill can get even better
While Pochettino seems to be satisfied with what he is getting from Colwill right now, the 20-year-old could still easily find another gear this season.
It is still early days for him under Pochettino and as a Chelsea first-team player. With more time, he should improve further.

Whatever the case, Colwill’s development over the last year or so has been excellent. His manager during his loan spell at Brighton, Roberto De Zerbi, thinks the improvement he has shown has been “fantastic”.
When all of his centre-backs are fit again, Pochettino will be spoilt for choice. However, it looks like Colwill will be getting the nod from the former Tottenham boss more often than not.
At 20, Colwill is obviously not the finished article just yet, but he is still capable of helping out this Chelsea team now and has been doing just that since returning to the club.
After making his Chelsea debut, Colwill’s next big goal will be to earn his first senior cap for England.
