Jurgen Klopp has claimed he still doesn’t know what system Chelsea were playing against his Liverpool side yesterday.
He told ViaPlay Football that he was still impressed with what his side did despite being taken by surprise by the system he was facing.
It was a positive first outing for Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea manager as he picked up a good point against a side they will be challenging for a place in the Champions League spots.

In truth, the Argentine will be the happier of the two managers as he will feel like his side actually did more to get the three points.
He utilised a system that did not look too similar to the one that had recently gone an entire pre-season campaign without defeat.
Klopp confused by Pochettino
Defender Trent Alexander-Arnold was seemingly not expecting what Chelsea had brought out, and Klopp has now claimed he wasn’t either.
He said: “When you have the better start in the game, which we absolutely had, it makes sense to extend that period massively.

“If you understand the game in the right way, we didn’t know exactly whether Chelsea will be in a five or what they will be, until now I’m not 100% sure!
“But it’s not that important, we just had to learn the spaces on the pitch and we did that in the beginning – for the first 20, 25 minutes – really well. We played super football, calm, composed, found good direction.”
It will be interesting now to see if Pochettino looks to switch back to a more familiar system when they travel across the capital next weekend to take on West Ham United at the London Stadium.
