Dean Jones claims Todd Boehly is assured that Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz is destined to reach the pinnacle of footballing enormity.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones relayed his understanding of Boehly’s views towards the talented German international.
Havertz certainly possess the ability to one day be remembered as a sporting great, with an impressive CV that continues to grow.
At just 23-years of age, he has already made well over 200 senior appearances for the Blues and Bayer Leverkusen combined.
He is not only a Champions League victor, but the reason Chelsea lifted the European crown in 2021.
The versatile forward further cemented his status within the club’s history by scoring the decisive goal in the Club World Cup final last term.
Havertz cannot slow down now
Whilst Havertz could rest on his laurels, there is still a sense that he can shift gears again to drive his career uphill once more.
Remaining at Stamford Bridge and creating an unbreakable legacy feels like the logical pathway.
Boehly apparently shares this view, with the Chelsea owner seemingly intent on keeping Havertz all for himself.
“Now that Chelsea have invested so heavily in him, and I’m told they still believe in him under this ownership, he’s going to be one of the best players in the world,” said Jones.
Although it’s unlikely the former Leverkusen prodigy will be departing Cobham any time soon, his employers must be wary about losing one of their prized possessions.
Several top European sides have reportedly shown interest in Havertz, a threat that Boehly wants to eradicate.
