Kai Havertz yesterday made history as part of Arsenal’s pre-season tour, however it was not for a promising reason for the German.

A video published on Twitter by ‘Men in Blazers’ shows him scoring zero shots in an MLS cross and volley challenge, with him becoming the first player in history never to score.

Havertz has finally got his Gunners career underway after completing his big-money move from Chelsea.

He made his first appearance in the second half of a pre-season friendly against Nurnberg, although he was largely ineffective as his side were held to a 1-1 draw.

As part of a tour of America, the Arsenal players took part in a number of fun challenges, inspired by the NBA all-star weekend.

Some will no doubt have been concerned by the finishing they saw from the 24-year-old, as he blazed numerous efforts over the bar as well as hitting a tame one at the goalkeeper.

Finishing is certainly something which he did not excel in at Stamford Bridge.

It is widely expected that Mikel Arteta will look to operate him from a deeper role, with the idea being that he will be alongside Martin Odegaard in the midfield.

However, the manager himself admitted that he is so far unsure where he wants to feature him.

The Blues are currently enjoying their pre-season campaign without Havertz, as they look to set up a bounce back next season from finishing 12th in the league.

Mauricio Pochettino seems to think that new signing Christopher Nkunku will be the perfect replacement for the current Gunner, and his inclusion has also seen the end of Joao Felix’s time at Stamford Bridge.
