Chelsea star Noni Madueke has been brilliant in training this week ahead of Sunday’s game against West Ham.

That is according to Mauricio Pochettino.

Noni Madueke, 21, was an unused substitute for Chelsea last week in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

The English right-winger has been working his way back from an injury problem, so he wasn’t risked in the club’s opening Premier League fixture of the season.

However, there’s a chance he could make his first outing of the campaign this weekend.

Pochettino has shared that Madueke has performed superbly throughout the week at Cobham in training.

The £29million (Sky Sports) attacker may get on the pitch against West Ham this weekend.

“He is much better,” Pochettino commented on Madueke, as quoted by the club’s official website.

“He was involved in the Liverpool game, but we wanted to avoid because it was too early to take a risk with him, but now he was training really well during the week.

“He is going to be involved against West Ham and maybe with the possibility to play.”

Chelsea’s forward positions do look up for grabs right now, so Madueke must be desperate to get on the pitch and show his individual qualities.

Frank Lampard recently told Steven Bartlett’s ‘Diary of a CEO’ podcast he thinks Madueke can be a big player in Chelsea’s future.

The left-footed winger was a rare positive during the miserable 2022/23 campaign following his mid-season arrival from PSV Eindhoven.

He can definitely inject the kind of trickery, pace and directness that will really help the Blues.
