Reports have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is now really worried about going into next season with a bloated Chelsea squad.

According to the Mail Online, the manager has concerns that the transfer policy will see the Blues having the same issue they had last season recur again.

Pre-season will have been an excuse for Pochettino to be more than pleased with what he had seen in his first few weeks as manager of Chelsea.

An unbeaten run against three Premier League sides who finished above them last season saw them crowned Premier League Summer Series champions at the weekend.

This followed up a devastating win against Wrexham, with them unbeaten so far on their trip to the United States.

Pochettino worried at Chelsea

A lot was said about the young and inexperienced group of players who made up the tour. New signings were short in supply at this stage of the window.

However, plenty of work has gone in since and the squad is beginning to take shape. There is a reported medical scheduled today for Axel Disasi ahead of his expected move to Stamford Bridge.

With plenty of other reported targets not yet confirmed to be joining, there is a fear for the manager that he could be about to face the same problem that those who had his job last season began to face.

The likes of Graham Potter and Frank Lampard have both tried and failed to keep a huge squad happy in West London, and this is an issue the Argentine will not want to be facing when looking to take Chelsea back to the top of the game.

Hopefully, those in charge have learnt from the mistakes that were made last season.
