Mauricio Pochettino shares what he immediately noticed after arriving at Chelsea’s training ground

Mauricio Pochettino was full of praise for the training ground after he arrived on his first day as Chelsea manager. 

He claimed in an official interview with the club that he wants the facility to feel like home for his new players.

Yesterday saw Pochettino’s time as the new Chelsea manager get underway, with plenty of work to be done to get ready for next season.

The players will begin to arrive throughout this week, as they get their chance to prove to the Argentine that they deserve to be at the club.

There will certainly be some that should not remain in West London, as they look to pick the pieces up from a 12th place finish last season.

Pochettino impressed by Cobham

A lot of work will need to be done on the training ground for them to understand the way the new manager wants them to play. He has previously been very keen on operating with a back four.

Pochettino he’s now claimed that he was left mightily impressed when he arrived at the illustrious Cobham complex.

He said: “It’s a fantastic, really nice training ground. The most important thing is players and staff need to feel that it is our home. It’s not only a place to come to work, it’s to come here and feel like home.

“Our responsibility is to help create this feeling and we are fully committed to trying to create a big atmosphere where people can feel really happy to work.“

It is now time for the hard work to get underway, and the players are ready to be put through their paces in what is likely to be a gruelling start to pre-season in the coming days.
