Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali has reportedly played an important role in trying to bring Frank Lampard back to the club.
Rumours in the media suggest that Frank Lampard will make a sensational return to Stamford Bridge.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted last night that the 44-year-old has agreed to become Chelsea’s interim manager until the end of the season.
Gary Lineker claims he’s in shock Lampard will be back at Chelsea on a short-term basis.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg on Twitter, Eghbali has been “pushing the idea” of Chelsea appointing Lampard until the summer.
He adds that the Blues ownership want to take their time with selecting Graham Potter’s long-term successor, with Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann named as potential candidates.
We like the plan of Chelsea conducting of a thorough selection process for their next manager. Enrique and Nagelsmann are some high-profile quality names in the mix, too!
Everything is a bit chaotic with the potential return of Lampard, who’s been sacked in his previous two jobs at both Chelsea and Everton.
However, it’s a piece of business that can make sense for all parties.

If Chelsea need a short-term fix to get them through the final couple of months of the season, Lampard’s return does kind of make sense.
He’ll certainly unite the supporters inside Stamford Bridge, which has held a tense atmosphere for most of this campaign. He knows a decent amount of the squad from his previous spell in charge as well.
For Lampard, his reputation took a bit of a battering with the way his time at Everton ended this season. He could put himself back on the market if he can make an impact with Chelsea during the next two months. We like to think the club icon is more than happy doing us a favour, too.
The atmosphere inside Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s Champions League tie against Real Madrid could be electric with Lampard in the hotseat.
It’s time to embrace the madness!
