Christian Pulisic reportedly wants a fresh start at Chelsea now that there’s been a change of management at Stamford Bridge.

Since Thomas Tuchel was sacked as Blues manager on Wednesday, the club acted swiftly to name Graham Potter as his successor and their new head coach.

Potter, 47, has been tempted away from Brighton by Chelsea, who have put big faith in the English coach by giving him a five-year deal.

It’s going to be intriguing now to see how the squad shapes up in the coming months, especially as there’s plenty of new signings finding their feet in the group.

Pulisic wants fresh Chelsea start

According to ESPN, Chelsea attacker Pulisic hopes that Potter’s arrival is the ideal chance for him to reignite his career in West London.

It is understood that the £150,000-a-week winger thinks he can have a fresh start under Potter.

The report adds that Tuchel was willing to offload Pulisic amid a breakdown in the pair’s relationship, but this could be a serious U-turn on his future at the Bridge.

Pulisic has started just one of the opening seven games this season across all competitions, with Tuchel using him off the bench six times.

However, it’s really positive news to hear the 23-year-old’s not giving up on his Chelsea future yet.

The fact Potter has enjoyed real success with wingers during his managerial career should be enough to encourage Pulisic.

It’s felt like there wasn’t really a best position for him in Tuchel’s system, but there’s no doubting he’s got the individual talent to be a match-winner if he gets his head down.

The American was spotted heading straight down the tunnel and ignoring fans after a game earlier this season. He may be a player reenergised by the staff change, though.
