Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic was filmed from the stands walking straight down the tunnel after the club’s defeat against Southampton.
The American made his fifth substitute appearance of the season as he missed out on a start to wantaway winger Hakim Ziyech, who struggled to impress on his first start of the campaign.
Pulisic has been reported to be upset that he will be at Chelsea this season, having hoped for a loan move away from the club for this campaign.

He was even willing to sign a new contract with the club in order to get some temporary time away, given he was looking to be at the top of his game before he joins up with the national team for this winter’s World Cup in Qatar.
Pulisic straight down the tunnel
However, he has been forced to stay at the club in order to maintain squad depth in the attacking areas, given that Callum Hudson-Odoi and Timo Werner have made temporary and permanent switches to the Bundesliga respectively.
This, mixed with being yet to start a game for the Blues this season has obviously annoyed Pulisic, with him being filmed not applauding the fans after the defeat at St. Mary’s.

It has been seen as tradition for countless years that players thank supporters for travelling to away games, and with them seeing an underwhelming display only furthering their right for acknowledgement.
As for his time on the pitch, the American may not have to wait much longer before he’s offered his chance to start a game for the Blues, with the likes of Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and now also Ziyech failing to impress for Thomas Tuchel’s side this season.
With an attacking reinforcement unlikely to be brought in before tomorrow’s deadline, it could still be a fruitful season for the American.
