Graham Potter thinks N’Golo Kante and Enzo Fernandez could be a great new-look partnership in the Chelsea midfield, according to reports.

Kante, who’s now 31, is an all-action central midfielder who’s not played since August due to injury.

However, the £30million Frenchman is eyeing a return to action this month (Evening Standard).

Meanwhile, Fernandez is learning on the job during his first handful of games as a Chelsea player.

The 22-year-old central midfielder arrived in January for £106.8million with a lot of expectation on his shoulders, which is why it’s been great to see flashes of brilliance from him.

He’s finding his feet in a Blues XI that is really struggling now, though.

According to ESPN, Potter believes that Chelsea could soon have a new solution in their midfield.

The report explains that Chelsea’s head coach thinks Kante could be a good complement to Fernandez in the centre of the park.

There hasn’t been an opportunity to experiment with the partnership yet, but it truly looks mouthwatering on paper.

In our view, the thought of a Kante-Fernandez pivot is an exciting one.

Both are capable of making huge contributions both offensively and defensively, so seeing how they work off each other would be very intriguing.

Many Chelsea fans are looking around the squad right now questioning where the quality is, but Kante’s imminent return should give everybody a lift.

Foot Mercato claimed this week that Kante has agreed to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

Therefore, a partnership with Fernandez looks very likely.
