Reports have claimed that it is unlikely Joao Felix remains at Chelsea beyond this season.

According to GiveMeSport, the 23-year-old is likely to fall victim of the requirement for the squad to be trimmed for prospective new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The fanbase have been more than divided regarding what the future of Felix should look like at Stamford Bridge.

On one hand, the Portugal international has been one of the most exciting players the club have had on the ball in the second half of the season.

However, this has only come in exchange for three goals, recently capping off a 3-1 win over Bournemouth with a strike off the bench.

Substitute appearances have been what the majority of Felix’s time recently have been limited to, with it being that way since Frank Lampard became the interim manager of the club.

Felix unlikely to stay

This has come as a result of the Englishman admitting that he and the player are both not too sure what his best position on the pitch actually is.

A new permanent manager is set to arrive at Stamford Bridge ahead of next season, which will reset the prospects for all of the first team.

It is currently unclear whether the Argentine would be keen to use Felix in his team, however It has been reported that he is an admirer of fellow attacker Mason Mount.

The duo have hardly featured together since the 23-year-old’s January move to the club, with injuries making it a tough campaign in full for the Englishman.

However, Pochettino has reportedly already made a demand that the club enter negotiations again to get the Englishman to agree to a new contract, after there has been a large gap in demands between both parties.
