Saul Niguez's brothers give interesting opinion on his Chelsea start, say two players are really helping him
The brothers of Saul Niguez have suggested that Chelsea is the perfect location for their sibling to improve his skills.
Speaking to Goal, Jony and Aaron Niguez insisted that their younger brother belonged to the Stamford Bridge family.
Up to this point, Saul has been something of an outsider to the Chelsea clan.
He is the newest member of the group, following his deadline day loan move from Atletico Madrid in August.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
A player with huge pedigree and perhaps a point to prove, the expectation was instantly thrown up the Spaniard’s shoulders.
Unfortunately, the 26-year-old’s debut could not have gone much worse.
Saul started against Aston Villa in the Premier League but was hauled off at half-time after a very disappointing 45 minutes.
He has since only played a further four times, twice as a substitute.
Brothers in arms
Understandably, adaptation to a new club and league takes time.
However, time is not exactly on Saul’s side.
Chelsea have a decision to make whether they extend his stay permanently, or send him back to Madrid at the next available opportunity.
Despite his uncertain future, the Niguez household maintained their belief about Saul’s situation.
“He requires time and adaptation and is in the ideal place to evolve, continue to grow and regain his sporting level,” said Jony.
“For me, it is the ideal team for him. He has always watched the Premier League because he likes it a lot,” continued Aaron.
“He likes the intensity, verticality and especially its fans, they always help their players, their team at all times and especially in the less good moments.
“Both Cesar (Azpilicueta) and Kepa (Arrizabalaga) are helping Saul a lot to adapt.
“I am convinced that Saul needs the adaptation process of him like any player, but I’m sure that the best version of him will be seen soon.”
Saul spots an opportunity
There is a great chance for Saul to put together a run of performances, thanks to the condition some of his teammates currently find themselves in.
Both Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante were removed from Chelsea’s Champions League squad to face Malmo this evening due to injury.
Therefore, a central midfield slot has opened up for someone to come and claim.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also in the running for this position, so it will depend on who has earned Thomas Tuchel’s trust.
Hopefully for Aaron and Jony, Saul’s name comes top of the list.
