N’Golo Kante has surprisingly been left out of the Chelsea travelling squad for Tuesday’s Champions League tie against Malmo.
Having previously confirmed four absences; Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, Mateo Kovacic, and Mason Mount, it seems that Thomas Tuchel has decided to add Kante to the list.

These five remain in London for treatment and recovery, despite Kante’s clearly taking part in the final training session on Monday.

So we will have to wait for further clarification whether there was a last-minute training injury or it simply a decision to rest the energetic midfielder.
As expected, versatile academy midfielder Harvey Vale has also travelled with the rest of the squad to Sweden after his involvement in the preparation at Cobham training centre.
