‘What a player’: Former Liverpool player tells Klopp to sign ‘quality’ Chelsea man in the summer

Jose Enrique encouraged Jurgen Klopp to bring Conor Gallagher from Chelsea to Liverpool over the summer.

Enrique punched a few characters into Twitter last night after seeing Gallagher’s latest eye-catching exhibition in a Crystal Palace jersey.

The England international chomped up every blade of grass at Selhurst Park yesterday as Patrick Vieira thwarted his former side Arsenal 3-0 in the Premier League.

Goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta, Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha sunk the Gunners to their knees and threw another twist into the top four race.

Whilst not providing an assist or getting on the scoresheet, Gallagher’s infectious energy rippled throughout the Palace team.

He pressed, passed and persisted for the majority of the contest, capturing more plaudits as the 90 minutes ticked on.

Even before the game had finished – although for Arsenal the tie was lost in the first-half – Enrique sent his transfer plea to Klopp via social media.

Gallagher to Liverpool?

Liverpool’s manager might possibly be thinking the exact same thing if he too tuned in to Monday Night Football.

There aren’t many current players in the English game that suit the Reds better than Chelsea’s on-loan midfielder.

If you are wanting intensity, intelligence and versatility, look no further than Gallagher himself.

Of course, if Klopp actually had any intention of moving for the Cobham graduate, his managerial compatriot may have a thing or two to say on the matter.

Thomas Tuchel is reportedly planning on reintroducing Gallagher into his squad once the campaign concludes.

Can Tuchel be blamed for wanting the 22-year-old for himself?

Absolutely not, but he must also be aware that several other coaches will be looking in his direction over the summer.

None more so than Vieira, who won’t let his young Eagle flee the nest without a fight.
