Journalist Ian Doyle has claimed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was spotted heading towards the dressing room after full-time of their draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

He took to Twitter to state that the American was striding with purpose although did not confirm that he actually entered the home changing room.

Boehly will no doubt have been pleased with what he saw from his club yesterday after overseeing a dire first season in West London.

They drew 1-1 with Liverpool in Mauricio Pochettino’s first competitive game in charge, and will feel the happier of the two sides who will both be competing for a place in the Champions League spots.

The manager stunned his counterpart, Jurgen Klopp, by operating a system that he had not used during pre-season, and this at times saw Chelsea take complete control of the game.

Now, Doyle has claimed that he saw the owner heading towards the dressing room after the game.

He said: “Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has just walked past the mixed zone and headed straight towards the dressing room. Was striding with real purpose. I’ve no idea what any of that means.”

It will be interesting to see if anything comes from this, and how Pochettino reacted if it emerges that he was seen in the changing room after the game.

Gary Neville recently claimed that he believed the Argentine wouldn’t stand for Boehly pulling off stunts like this, after it was frequently reported that he was doing so last season.

With the new figures hired at boardroom level, it was expected that he would take a bit of a stepback from the limelight.

However, it has not seemed like this has occurred up to now.
