Chelsea are continuing to trim down their squad ahead of the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
They have already sold Ian Maatsen and Omari Hutchinson, while Trevoh Chalobah could also be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.
Chalobah has caught Crystal Palace’s attention during this transfer window and has not travelled with Chelsea to the United States for the club’s pre-season tour.
While Chalobah’s Chelsea career now appears to be over, nothing seems imminent with him just yet, though.
It is another story for Malang Sarr, however, who looks to have secured a move away from west London.

Malang Sarr set to join RC Lens
It was recently reported that Sarr was set to have a medical with RC Lens ahead of his move to the Ligue 1 club.
It is a switch that the 25-year-old desperately needs after a torrid time at Chelsea. He was not part of the senior squad last season, failing to play a single minute of football under Mauricio Pochettino.
That would not have changed in the new campaign, with new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca possessing the likes of Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile.
The options Maresca has is one reason why Chalobah is heading for the exit door, with there simply not being enough minutes to go around.
Malang Sarr failed to live up to expectations at Chelsea
When Chelsea signed Sarr from Nice on a free transfer back in 2020, it looked like a fantastic piece of business.
The Frenchman arrived as one of the most promising young defenders from his country and seemed like he had plenty to offer. Sarr is quite a versatile defender, able to play at centre-back and left-back.
In the end, though, Chelsea did not get much from him, while he was unable to develop there. In the four years the former France U21 international has been at the club, he has only made 21 appearances for them.
Earning £120,000 a week (Spotrac), it is good that Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital are finally getting him off their wage books and that the player is going to have a new permanent home where he can try and revive his career. But there is no escaping it, Sarr has proven to be a really disappointing signing for Chelsea.
