Given the nature of the result, and how the two hours of football played out at Wembley, Chelsea fans have every reason to be frustrated.

Those who travelled yesterday saw their team lose 1-0 to a Liverpool side who were forced to use a number of inexperienced players.

This seems to be the case for no player more than Moises Caicedo, who is currently in the club record addition.

Playing in the middle of the park, the Ecuador International has always been prone to criticism, even if at times it has not been warranted.

This was the case yesterday, with him clearly the best performing midfielder on the pitch on either side.

Some may say that being the most expensive should make him the best performing player, however, it is rare for him to receive such praise.

Caicedo criticism unfair

Well, this has not been perfect this season, but yesterday was a strange game to choose to criticise his ability on the ball. In 120 minutes of action, he made four unsuccessful passes.

His partner alongside him, Enzo Fernandez, struggled quite a bit more both in and out of possession.

When one of the duo plays poorly, it feels as if criticism gets thrown the way of both of them, which will actually end up going down as lazy analysis.
