Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali could find themselves laughing all the way to the bank before the summer transfer window closes.

They have already made £50m from selling Andrey Santos after signing the midfielder from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama for just £18m three years ago.

Yes, Chelsea have spent a lot of money, recently purchasing Morgan Rogers for a club-record £117m fee.

Chelsea selling Pedro Neto for €80m would be incredible

First of all, this is not a piece to tear apart Pedro Neto, who has a lot of characteristics you want in a winger.

The 26-year-old is quick, can cross the ball and works extremely hard down the flank. But he is simply not worth one of the figures currently floating around ahead of a potential move this summer.

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea could be willing to sell Neto for €80m amid interest from Manchester City.

That is £68m for a literal five-goal-a-season winger. Last term, Neto scored five times in 34 Premier League outings. In the previous campaign, he scored one goal fewer in 35 appearances.

That is too much money for an attacker with such a low output. But if you are a Chelsea fan, you are not going to complain.

The owners will certainly not be moaning after signing Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £54m in 2024.

They could now end up making a bit of profit on the Portugal international, though it would be quite a surprise if anyone was willing to pay almost £70m for him.

Neto is a player you can easily imagine Alonso liking because of his work rate, pace and versatility. But not too many Chelsea supporters would be sad to see him go.
