With the circus of the transfer window rolling round again this month, it is no surprise that Chelsea are being linked to a number of big additions.

Their place in the table and glaring issues on the pitch make it easy to see them linked to a whole host of new players.

A spell of spending big money consistently under Todd Boehly has again seen them reported to be considering huge additions.

Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney and Viktor Gyokeres are just some of the names who have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

However, Chelsea can do some of their best business of the window by making a signing for a reported £8m.

The left back position at the club is one that has been under scrutiny for injuries this season.

Ben Chilwell has not been seen on the pitch since September. Although he has been spotted back in training, it is likely going to be a few weeks until he is back in action on a regular basis.

His problems have coincided with issues for Marc Cucurella, who recently underwent surgery and is going to be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

An addition in this position would certainly be recommended, and Valentin Barco could be the perfect signing this month.

His release clause sits at a very achievable £8m, and his campaign has recently come to an end in South America with Boca Juniors.

There are a number of Premier League clubs who have been linked with a move for the youngster, however Strasbourg have also been tipped for the signing.

With them having obvious links to Chelsea, there is clearly an appreciation for the player for the future. However, there is a clear path for him to actually make an instant impact in West London.
