Despite being one of the most important members of their squad, Chelsea could end up selling Enzo Fernandez this summer.
Fernandez is thought to be keen on a new challenge as he continues to attract interest from Real Madrid.
One Spanish reporter has even claimed that Fernandez has already agreed to join Real Madrid. Chelsea should only do a deal on their terms, though, and they are starting to get more leverage as the days pass by.
A major development in the transfer market on Wednesday is one reason why. According to The Telegraph, Nottingham Forest rejected a £120m bid from Manchester City for Elliot Anderson.

How much would Enzo Fernandez cost if Chelsea tried to buy him today? 🤔 💰
A goalscoring midfielder is a rare commodity ⚽️
Anderson is an excellent footballer and proved that last season. However, he is not a better midfield player than Fernandez; it is as simple as that.
Fernandez’s passing is just as good as Anderson’s if not better, while the Argentine also scores more goals than him.
Granted, Fernandez does play higher than Anderson, but a 15-goal season makes the World Cup winner such a rare commodity. You are not going to find too many midfielders capable of scoring as many goals, with Anderson netting just four times in 50 games last term.
Chelsea are thought to value Fernandez at £120m, while it has been reported that they could be willing to sell him for even less. But if Anderson is going to cost more than £120m, Chelsea should be demanding a similar amount of money.

The Blues paid £107m for Fernandez and he has improved since his arrival from Benfica. The Argentina international is 25 and has a contract until 2032, so his resale value is still really high. These are also things that Chelsea should be taking into account.
Will any club be willing to pay £120m plus for Fernandez? Probably not. But that is now his value in the market, and Chelsea should not sell him for anything lower unless financial issues force them to.
