Chelsea’s number one transfer target has not been particularly difficult to be aware of for anyone following transfer news this month.
It has been widely claimed that Mauricio Pochettino’s first choice addition for a striker would be Victor Osimhen, who is currently playing for Napoli.
Reports have gone on to say that Todd Boehly has also personally given his seal of approval on the potential signing, however it is clear that it will not be an easy deal to pull off.

The recent new contract signed by the Nigerian international has left everyone in world football knowing it is going to be a big fee in order to prize him out of Italy.
After smashing their club transfer record twice in 2023 to bring in Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, it is unclear as to whether another one of those deals will be realistic.
If it is not and they need to look elsewhere, they should absolutely turn their attention to signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
Chelsea should sign Sesko over Osimhen
The youngster was a serious candidate to be signed up top before he made the move to the Bundesliga, with him already impressing a lot in his short career.
This season he has taken the step up to starring in the Champions League, where they have set up an attractive tie against Manchester City in the Round of 16.
Whichever route the chiefs at Chelsea go down, a top number nine is certainly required based on the start to the season they have undergone.
While goals have come in bunches for Nicolas Jackson, he has come in for criticism for some of his play this season.
The Sesko fee would likely come in at around £43m, which would be less than half what is likely required to sign Osimhen instead.
