Chelsea should offer Carney Chukwuemeka to sign £58m star who would solve Enzo Maresca’s biggest problem

The wheels are threatening to come off at Chelsea after they’re really impressive start to the season under Enzo Maresca.

Any feint hopes of a title race that Maresca had already ruled out have long gone, and now the Blues are working on qualifying for the Champions League for next season.

For this to happen, many believe they will need to make a move in the January transfer market, and this will likely come as a result of selling players.

Chelsea should swap Carney Chukwuemka for Gregor Kobel

One of those who could be on the move is Carney Chukwuemeka, who looks out of favour under the new manager and has started just one game this season.

A number of big clubs have been linked with a move for the midfielder. Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in Chukwuemeka.

They are reportedly of the belief that he is too expensive at the price Chelsea want for him, however the Blues should use this as a reason to pose a swap deal to sign Gregor Kobel.

It was reported late last year that Chelsea were interested in signing the goalkeeper, with them reportedly willing to pay as much as £58m to complete the deal.

Supporters are crying out for the Blues to sign a new goalkeeper after being left unconvinced by their current number one.

Robert Sanchez not impressing at Chelsea

Robert Sanchez has kept the backing of Maresca this season despite a number of big errors in key moments that have cost them points.

Filip Jorgensen has had to wait for the Conference League for the majority of his appearances this campaign, and even though fans have been impressed he has clearly not done enough to become number one.

Kobel would certainly be an upgrade on what Chelsea currently have between the sticks, and would hopefully solve the biggest problem the Blues have right now.

It would also see Chukwuemeka move on, something Maresca is clearly not against after he was available for a transfer last summer.
