West Ham United could raid London rivals Chelsea during this transfer window as they look to strengthen their squad.

There could be several players at Chelsea available this month, with Enzo Maresca not able to give everyone minutes in the current campaign.

Christopher Nkunku, for example, has only made three starts in the Premier League this season. After being snubbed in the Blues’ 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday, Nkunku’s Chelsea career looks like it could be over.

The same applies to the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka, who have not made a single start in the top flight under Maresca.

West Ham interested in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka

Considering their lack of game time, then, it would not be a surprise if both Dewsbury-Hall and Chukwuemeka left Chelsea before the transfer window shuts in February.

In terms of potential destinations, West Ham are said to be interested in the two Chelsea midfielders.

According to The Telegraph, West Ham have Dewsbury-Hall and Chukwuemeka on their radar.

If the Hammers want to buy the latter, he will not come cheap. Last month, journalist Ben Jacobs reported that Chelsea could demand up to £45m for Chukwuemeka.

Carney Chukwuemeka would have caught West Ham’s eye last season

Because of injuries, Chukwuemeka was only able to make nine appearances in the Premier League during the 2023/24 campaign.

However, one of those appearances came against West Ham at the London Stadium, where the 21-year-old really impressed before he had to be taken off.

Chelsea lost that game 3-1, but it was Chukwuemeka who grabbed his side their only goal. The former Aston Villa player also registered one key pass and completed one of his attempted dribbles. Ultimately, it was a display that West Ham’s scouts would have been impressed with if they were watching.

Whether it is to West Ham or another club, Chukwuemeka needs a transfer this month if he wants minutes, and the same goes for Dewsbury-Hall.
