There seems to be one striker who Chelsea really want to sign before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea have had little success in their pursuit of him so far, which will be a source of frustration for the club.
The Blues could perhaps do with a new centre-forward to help out Nicolas Jackson, though they have brought in Marc Guiu.
He has played in Chelsea’s first two pre-season fixtures, and Guiu remaining at Stamford Bridge is now the plan.
Still, another centre-forward remains on their radar, but they really should not be so desperate to sign him this summer.

Chelsea still interested in Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion
Chelsea haven’t been able to sign Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid, but it does not look like they are giving up on bringing in the striker just yet.
On his Substack, journalist Simon Phillips recently claimed that Chelsea really like Omorodion and are hoping that his valuation comes down.
It has been claimed that it could cost Chelsea £70m to sign Omorodion, which is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for a 20-year-old forward who is still unproven.
But even if Chelsea can get the Spain U21 international for lower than that, it still may be best for them to stay far away from him.
Chelsea need a more proven striker
Chelsea already have 23-year-old Nicolas Jackson and 18-year-old Guiu, who looks set to be part of the first-team squad this season.
Considering that, it makes little sense to go out and spend big money on someone like Omorodion.
He is not going to be an upgrade on Jackson, and if Chelsea want another young striker to provide the Senegal international cover, then they already have Guiu.
Last term, Jackson scored 17 goals in 44 appearances, which is not a terrible return, especially with it being his first season in England.
If Chelsea want to add another centre-forward to Enzo Maresca‘s squad, then that person should be a guaranteed upgrade on Jackson or someone who is very close to his level. Omorodion is yet to show he is either of those things.
