It looks as if Chelsea are pretty set with their midfield options going into next season under their new manager.
Enzo Maresca recently welcomed Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo back to the first team squad that are currently completing a pre-season tour of the United States.
New signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has thrown himself into contention for a start when the season begins too.
With Romeo Lavia hoping for a more productive season after his injury woes, there is certainly some top quality competition for places in the side.
This is perhaps one of the reasons why Conor Gallagher is seen as surplus to requirements, and why he is on his way to Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea linked with Matt O’Riley
Despite all of these midfield options, Chelsea’s latest reported transfer target is another player who stars in that position.
The Blues have been linked with Celtic’s Matt O’Riley, who opened the scoring when the Scottish side hammered Chelsea earlier this summer.
The midfielder has been praised in the past as a ‘wonderful footballer’ by current manager Brendan Rodgers, however it is difficult to see what role he would play at Stamford Bridge.
O’RIley signing would be strange
With the midfield options already at the club, and youngsters like Andrey Santos looking to prove they should be considered for roles soon too, it feels as if the Blues should be looking to other positions if they still want to make new signings.
Even the moderate £20m price tag should not see Chelsea looking this way, with a new winger looking more what they need going into the new season.
Mykhailo Mudryk has struggled to hit the ground running since joining the club 18 months ago, and no doubt is under pressure to deliver this season.
The Blues already missed out on the addition of Michael Olise when he moved to Crystal Palace, and are in danger of doing so for the likes of Nico Williams if they don’t shift focus and make a big move this summer.
