Chelsea will find it impossible to reject potential counter-offer for Alejandro Garnacho

There has been a lot of talk about Chelsea potentially signing Alejandro Garnacho for a very modest fee.

It is thought that Chelsea value Garnacho at around £30m, which is barely anything in today’s market.

Manchester United are unlikely to accept an offer of that amount, but the Blues could still end up securing a very favourable deal.

Chelsea signed Jadon Sancho on loan from their Premier League rivals in the last summer transfer window, and repeating that trick again with Garnacho does not seem to be off the table.

Manchester United prefer Alejandro Garnacho loan over cut-price deal

In June, it was claimed that Chelsea had held internal talks about signing Garnacho on loan, and that could be something that United are very much open to.

According to FourFourTwo, the Red Devils are more likely to accept a loan with an option to buy than a low-ball bid.

If Chelsea submit a £30m bid for Garnacho and United make a counter-offer by proposing a loan deal, that will still work for the Club World Cup winners.

In fact, it sounds like a much better deal and thus one Chelsea will not be able to say no to.

Garnacho is not the only attacker the club are chasing at the moment. Chelsea are also interested in Xavi Simons, who will link up with Netherlands teammate Jorrel Hato if he moves to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Alejandro Garnacho loan a no-brainer for Chelsea

While Garnacho was quite hit-and-miss at Old Trafford last season, he is a young attacker with a lot of potential.

If Chelsea loan him, see that potential and come to the conclusion that he can fulfil it in west London, then they can sign the Argentina international permanently next year. If not, then the player is sent back to United.

If that is an option for Chelsea, then there is no reason for them to say no, and the likelihood is that they won’t. On loan, Garnacho would be a low-risk, high-reward signing.
