Reports have claimed in recent days that Chelsea are about to miss out on a signing they have had lined up pretty much since the summer transfer window.
What makes it worse is the fact that the side who could be the beneficiaries of the transfer are one of their closest rivals in the Premier League.
Tottenham have been extremely savvy with their business in the last two transfer windows. The signing of James Maddison in particular left some at Chelsea wondering why a deal wasn’t done to bring him in at Stamford Bridge.

However, it has recently been claimed that Spurs are ahead of the Blues in the race to sign Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge.
A fee of around £25m is being discussed as what is required for the signing, and the Blues made their move late in the summer window to try and bring him in.
The player himself acknowledged the interest from Chelsea, even stating that he couldn’t quite believe the price they were prepared to pay to bring him in.
Chelsea have to beat Tottenham to Nusa
However, a deal failed to come to fruition, although his name has not escaped the radar of some big teams in world football up to now.
With key figures at Stamford Bridge reportedly discussing the prospects of signing him, they will perhaps have seen those conversations accelerate after the news that Spurs are considering a deal.
Chelsea have made a habit of picking up some of the world’s best players before their rivals have had a sniff, however this is one deal they can not afford to miss out on.
The winger has shown for both club and country that there are not many out there with the potential he has, and the side who are able to secure his services for the coming seasons are going to be very happy with their work.
