Chelsea youngster can kickstart his career under Enzo Maresca in FA Cup against Brighton after team news gives him huge chance

Enzo Maresca will already have a good idea of who he will want to be starting as Chelsea look to keep their run in the FA Cup going tomorrow night.

The manager has usually looked to his fringe players to make an impact in cup competitions this season, and this has not led to any issues in the Conference League.

However, a trip to Brighton offers far more issues for the Blues, and some of their crucial squad players have left the club in January.

Joao Felix, Axel Disasi and Renato Veiga were all regulars in Europe, however have moved on loan for the rest of the season.

Tyrique George can kickstart Chelsea career in FA Cup vs Brighton

The boss has fitness woes to deal with this weekend too, and with Marc Guiu and Nicolas Jackson injured, it looks like Christopher Nkunku will be starting up front.

This frees up a position on the left of attack, and an opportunity for Tyrique George to kickstart his Chelsea career.

After being promoted to a the first team squad earlier this season, the academy graduate has had to wait patiently for limited minutes off the bench in the Premier League.

However, with Jadon Sancho going off the boil, there is a real chance he will start on the left tomorrow night, giving him the chance to fully kickstart his first team career.

George is yet to score for the first team, and should really have more assists to his name after creating some very good chances for his teammates.

What has Enzo Maresca said about Tyrique George?

Maresca is the one who handed George his Chelsea debut earlier this season, and has notably been a fan of his ever since the pre-season tour to the United States.

After the win against West Ham where Jackson and Guiu’s injuries first became clear, the manager hinted the youngster was in his plans going forward.

He said to the official Chelsea website: “We have Tyrique who is a very good profile and probably we can find some different solutions. In the last half-an-hour we played with Marc Cucurella higher, with Christopher Nkunku inside. We’ll try to find different solutions.”

Maresca needs to deliver on these promises to keep the faith from youngsters at the club, and the FA Cup is the perfect opportunity to do so.
