Chelsea’s decision to pull out of deal for ‘special talent’ is unforgivable, he’s just done something amazing in the Champions League

Chelsea’s 2024 summer transfer window is starting to look like a very bad one.

There was a lot of excitement at the time, with Chelsea bringing in the likes of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Renato Veiga.

However, Neto has only managed to score two goals in the Premier League this season, while Felix and Veiga have already left the club on loan, joining AC Milan and Juventus respectively.

It is now being reported that Chelsea could offload Felix permanently before July. You can now argue that signing him was a mistake, and the same thing can be said about the club’s decision to pull out of a deal for another attacker.

Chelsea will regret Michael Olise decision

Before Felix and Neto had arrived at Stamford Bridge, Michael Olise was the attacker Chelsea were interested in.

At one point, it was thought that Chelsea were ready to trigger Olise’s release clause at Crystal Palace.

That never happened, though, with The Athletic reporting that the club pulled out of the process to sign the winger because of the finances involved.

Fast forward to the present, and that now looks like a huge gaffe, with Olise really impressing at Bayern Munich this season.

This is Olise’s first Champions League campaign, and the 23-year-old has not disappointed in the competition.

He scored on Wednesday in Bayern’s 2-1 play-off win against Celtic, making it five goals in nine appearances.

In total, Olise has come up with 11 goals and nine assists across all competitions this term, showing that he can be a productive wide man.

The kind of form that the France international is showing, it is no surprise that Vincent Kompany has labelled him a “special talent” (via Bayern Strikes).

Ultimately, Chelsea should have tried harder to sign Olise, who looks like he would have made much more of an impact than Felix and Neto. Neto himself has admitted that he can do better in what has been a disappointing season for him on an individual level.
