Manchester City have just appointed former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca as their new head coach, and it is going to be a busy summer for the Italian.

Chelsea’s Premier League rivals have already got down to work on signing Elliot Anderson, who underwent a medical on Monday.

As well as incomings, outgoings are also expected at the Etihad this summer, and Chelsea should try to take advantage of all the change that is going on in that part of Manchester.

Who will be a bigger success – Enzo Maresca or Xabi Alonso? 🤔

City have confirmed Maresca will replace Guardiola.

Ruben Dias would be the perfect signing for Chelsea this summer

According to the Daily Mail, one City star who may not get the chance to play under Maresca is Ruben Dias.

The outlet claims that Dias leaving the club cannot be ruled out, with Real Madrid named as a potential destination.

However, if the Portuguese really is available, Chelsea should make a move for him. The Blues are looking for a central defender and have an interest in Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix.

In fact, it has even been claimed that Chelsea have a deal in place to sign Lacroix. But if that is not true and they fail to sign the Frenchman for whatever reason, Dias should be the priority.

The Portugal international ticks every box. At 29 and with 170 Premier League appearances to his name, he is a very experienced defender. Dias is also very strong and dominant, characteristics lacking in the majority of Chelsea’s current centre-back options.

Chelsea could have a hard time trying to convince Dias to join them after finishing 10th last season. Xabi Alonso’s side will not be playing in Europe next term, which could easily put Dias and other elite players off.

However, if the former Benfica man wants to leave City but remain in England, Chelsea should still come across as an attractive destination for him.

For now, though, it seems that the Club World Cup holders are prioritising Lacroix.
