Enzo Maresca has just pushed Chelsea star closer to exit door after Club World Cup final decision

Chelsea were able to beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final thanks to Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.

Palmer scored twice in 30 minutes before Pedro netted just prior to the half-time whistle to make it 3-0 to Chelsea.

The Brazilian has made an immediate impact, scoring twice in the previous round as well. Former Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend has been amazed by Pedro’s quick start at the Blues, which has really benefited them.

However, his arrival is already proving to be quite problematic for Nicolas Jackson, who no longer seems to be Enzo Maresca‘s first-choice striker.

Nicolas Jackson will be thinking about his future after final snub

Pedro started for Chelsea in their 3-0 victory over PSG, while Jackson was not even brought on as a substitute.

And when it was time for the Brazil international to come off, Maresca opted to introduce Liam Delap to the game instead of Jackson.

The decision to overlook Jackson means the 24-year-old finishes the Club World Cup with just three appearances to his name. Of course, he did not help himself after receiving a two-match ban following the red card he picked up against Flamengo in the group stage.

Whatever the case, Jackson now appears to be the third-choice striker behind Pedro and Delap. It would now not be a surprise if he were considering his long-term future at the club as a result.

There was some talk about Jackson being on Arsenal’s radar, but their move for Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres likely rules them out.

Chelsea set insane price tag for Nicolas Jackson

While Jackson may end up deciding that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge, Chelsea could make things difficult for the former Villarreal man.

According to one report from the Daily Mail, Chelsea value Jackson at £100m. But as the Blues have shown with Noni Madueke and others in the past, if someone wants out, then they will not prevent an exit.
