After months of injuries plaguing the first team squad at Chelsea, the Blues boss will be delighted that he now has close to a clean bill of health amongst his players.

Wesley Fofana is out for the season, and Romeo Lavia has suffered a setback in his recovery, although other than that the Blues have most of their expected starters ready and raring to go for their next Premier League game.

Chelsea will take on Ipswich Town at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, with the aim solely being to pick up three points in their race for Champions League football.

They will be going into the game on a high following an excellent win in the Conference League against Legia Warsaw, highlighted by Tyrique George’s first senior goal for the club.

Enzo Maresca named a blend of experience and youth in his starting attack against their Polish opposition, with Christopher Nkunku and Jadon Sancho getting another chance at redemption.

Sancho recorded two assists, however the Frenchman’s woes continued as his missed penalty only added to another poor display.

The game was changed by the introduction of Noni Madueke, who has earned himself a place in the starting side for Sunday after showing a direct style of play they were desperately missing in the early stages of Thursday.

Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson are still two of the first names on the teamsheet, despite neither enjoying a rich vein of form this year. The pair have hardly found the net in 2025 between them.

The opposite wing should be occupied by Pedro Neto, a player who was playing some of his best stuff when the Blues were missing a host of their other attacking options.

Due to various injuries, this variation of Chelsea’s attack has not featured together in nearly three months.

The last time they all started was back in January, when the Blues beat Wolves 3-1 at home to return to winning ways amid the start of their drop in form.

Only Madueke of the four contributed to a goal on that day, however they suffocated their opponents and made it very difficult for them to get out.

The Blues can expect to be the dominant side when they take on Ipswich on Sunday, and should believe they have the quality to create plenty of chances to put the game to bed.

All four players can be matchwinners for them, and with George and Sancho waiting in the wings, there is a real chance for them to lay down a marker to their Champions League-chasing rivals.
