Saturday was a very good day for Chelsea as they went on to beat Premier League champions Liverpool.
The whole Chelsea team will be happy, but four individuals in particular have reason to be delighted.
At the same time, though, one Blues player may feel a bit disappointed after not really taking his chance.
With all of that in mind, here are the four winners and one loser from Chelsea’s 2-1 Premier League win against Liverpool.
Winners
Estevao Willian
Estevao Willian is undoubtedly the biggest winner following his side’s victory over Arne Slot’s team. The Brazilian was already a popular figure at Stamford Bridge but will become an even more popular one now after his winning goal.
As a result of it and his overall impact, Estevao is also likely to start in Chelsea’s next Premier League game against Nottingham Forest.

Alejandro Garnacho
Many Chelsea supporters were unconvinced by the signing of Alejandro Garnacho. He needs to win them over, and his bright display against one of their fiercest rivals is a great start.
Garnacho will definitely have more fans in west London after Saturday. Garnacho has still failed to score against Liverpool in the Premier League, but both the Argentina international and Chelsea supporters can be happy with his latest outing against the Reds.
Josh Acheampong
Unlike Garnacho, Josh Acheampong does not need to convince the Chelsea fanbase. They already love him. He needs to convince Enzo Maresca, who has overlooked him this season despite Chelsea’s centre-back crisis.
Maresca started Acheampong against Liverpool, though, and he did not disappoint. In the past, Acheampong has been described as “composed”. He looked so on Saturday and is ready for more first-team opportunities going forward.
Enzo Maresca
Maresca’s introduction of Estevao is what helped Chelsea to beat Liverpool. Romeo Lavia, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato also did well after coming on.
Ultimately, after being criticised for how he reacted to the Blues going down to 10 men against Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester United, the Chelsea head coach got his subs spot on in the Liverpool win.

Loser
Marc Guiu
Unfortunately for Marc Guiu, he was probably the only loser to come out of Chelsea versus Liverpool from the Chelsea side of things.
That was his first appearance since returning from his loan spell at Sunderland, and the striker did nothing to show that he should be ahead of Tyrique George in the pecking order. It was a very disappointing cameo from a young player who showed a lot of promise last season.
Clearly, though, there were more positives than negatives for Chelsea to take away from their latest outing.
