Chelsea made the perfect start after the international break with a clean sheet and three points against Tottenham.
The Blues secured a well-deserved 1-0 victory at home to Spurs on Thursday night in the Premier League. Following the crucial result, they’ve moved back up to fourth in the division table.
Chelsea’s current run against Spurs is now four wins in a row, securing back-to-back league doubles over them.
Enzo Maresca’s side have been very strong at home recently, winning their previous five league games at Stamford Bridge. Now, they need to try fix their away form as they travel to Brentford for another London derby.

Winners
On a really positive evening for Chelsea, there were plenty of individuals that got a huge tick by their name for their contributions.
Enzo Fernandez: During the last few months, Enzo Fernandez has emerged as one of the most crucial players in Chelsea’s side.
The central midfielder scored his fifth Premier League goal of the season, powering in a match-winning header against Spurs after a great run into the penalty box. He was busy in all areas of the game, too. It was summed up perfectly when Tim Sherwood said Fernandez is “fulfilling his potential” for the Blues.
Malo Gusto: If anyone needed a positive display against Spurs, it was definitely Malo Gusto.
What the right-back delivered was one of his best individual performances of the season. As you can see from the statistics below, he stepped up with contributions both offensively and defensively. It’s nice to know that Reece James can come in and out of the side while Maresca continues to be cautious with the club captain.
Cole Palmer: A huge positive from Chelsea’s success against Spurs is that Cole Palmer looked back to his old self again.
The Blues talisman seems to be a much better player when striker Nicolas Jackson is on the pitch. Our warning to opposition defences is they should look out now that Palmer has registered his first assist since 1 December, which was earned by a great cross into the box, because we expect a strong end to the season from him.
Trevoh Chalobah: The midweek fixture felt quite significant for Trevoh Chalobah because it was his first start in the Premier League since 22 February.
Without a doubt, the central defender was a big winner from the Spurs victory because he really caught the eye. Chalobah’s passing against Spurs was super impressive, plus he made some key defensive interventions to help keep a precious clean sheet.

Losers
Unfortunately, some Chelsea individuals might not be too pleased despite the team’s latest success.
Jadon Sancho: It was a great chance for Jadon Sancho to impress against Spurs after being picked in the starting XI, but he was taken off midway through the second half.
The left-winger failed to leave his mark on the contest, even though he was perhaps unlucky not to score when goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario made one great save from his effort. It’s not a good sign that Chelsea fans weren’t happy with Sancho inside the ground after his latest display. Overall, he’s just not delivering enough end product with the amount of opportunities he’s getting to play.

Christopher Nkunku: Even though Christopher Nkunku didn’t feature on Thursday, it felt like quite a bad night for him.
The fact that the versatile attacker remained an unused substitute can’t be good for him. There are clearly wingers above him in the pecking order to play in the wide roles, plus he watched from the bench as Nicolas Jackson looked really bright against Spurs at striker on his return from a hamstring injury.
