Chelsea supporters who made the trip to Goodison Park this week will have been left frustrated again with what they saw from their players.

The Blues lost 2-0 to Everton in the Premier League, seeing them make it back-to-back games without a win despite the nature of their opponents.

The result may well be overshadowed in the coming days by the fallout from Reece James’ injury which saw him substituted off midway through the first half.

It was claimed straight after it occurred that it was a hamstring problem that forced the captain off, which could mean he has irked an issue that has affected him plenty throughout his career already.

In what was a meandering performance on the pitch though, only one player can genuinely leave Merseyside today feeling that he did enough to help his side take all three points with them.

Mykhailo Mudryk was dangerous from the outset, after Mauricio Pochettino made the decision to start him over Raheem Sterling, who began the game from the bench.

It quickly emerged why that decision had been made, with the pace the 22-year-old possesses clear to see up against veteran full-back Ashley Young.

The Englishman was actually forced off injured as well in the first half, with him visibly struggling with the battle on that side of the pitch.

Chelsea will therefore be disappointed that they began to not utilize the winger more as the game went on, with his impact declining as the 90 minutes went on.

As Chelsea’s attacks began to get more desperate following going behind, the pattern of the game played out which didn’t really involve Mudryk, which will frustrate him and disappoint supports simultaneously.
