Levi Colwill has not been in the greatest form in recent weeks, as Chelsea struggled in the Premier League in general.
However, the home game against Southampton was the perfect fixture for them to build a bit of momentum again, and they answered in due course with a 4-0 win over the side bottom of the Premier League.
Colwill scored his first goal of the season in the first half of the Stamford Bridge rout, as he powered home a header from a Pedro Neto free-kick.
This was one of two goals from set-pieces, with new set-piece coach Max Vogelsang-Szczupak clearly making his presence felt at the club already.

Levi Colwill answers Gary Neville’s criticism with top performance vs Southampton
The England international had come in for criticism lately for his performances, with his display against former club Brighton not impressing at all.
Gary Neville described Colwill as weak after he was eased off the ball for their opponents last goal in the 3-0 defeat.
Those concerns may have cropped up again when it was clear he would be up against Paul Onuachu, who stands at around 6”7”.
With the help of Tosin Adarabioyo, Colwill completely nullified the threat of the big striker, putting in a top defensive performance to go along with his goal.

Colwill has been a regular in the starting side this season, and he has been forced to play through his bad form with Benoit Badiashile missing through injury since December.
Centre-back reinforcements are coming for Chelsea though. Wesley Fofana was in the Chelsea squad for the first time in nearly three months against Southampton.

Chelsea’s stance on Levi Colwill amid poor form
It is believed very few players are seen as untouchable at Stamford Bridge, with only Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo seen in that light.
Colwill has been tipped for big things in his Chelsea career, and the club were delighted to get him to commit his future to the Blues.
It has been claimed Chelsea are still delighted with Colwill despite his recent slump in form, and he will not be one of the players they look to cash in on this summer.
Trevoh Chalobah’s Chelsea future is not bright, and there will be an effort to sell Axel Disasi when his loan at Aston Villa comes to an end.
