Liam Rosenior’s time as manager of Chelsea will not go down well in the memories of club supporters, although he could still play a role in developing one of the Blues’ top youngsters.

Rosenior didn’t even last half a season at Stamford Bridge before he was replaced, with Chelsea’s chances of finishing in the European places ahead of next season.

The Englishman is back in the managerial game already, as he prepares to take over at Paris FC ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Liam Rosenior is the best person to develop Mamadou Sarr on loan

There is optimism that the Blues will bounce back under Xabi Alonso, however no European football will make it difficult for the Spaniard to utilise his whole squad.

This will see some of the youngsters need a loan move away from Stamford Bridge, with Mamadou Sarr fitting into this category.

The centre-back was on loan at Strasbourg last season, although joined up with the first team early at the request of Rosenior, who had previously worked with him in France.

However, he was restricted to limited minutes in West London, which included being thrown to the wolves as they exited the Champions League at the hands of PSG.

Rosenior has a strong understanding of how Sarr operates best though, and bringing him back to France for a season would benefit all parties.

Rosenior could find himself in a battle for the player’s signature with Chelsea legend Cesc Fabregas, who will be leading Como in the Champions League next season.

Como are reportedly interested in Sarr this summer, however they are looking at some of his teammates for permanent transfers too.

Trevoh Chalobah has been strongly linked with a move there, although is currently preferring a switch to Inter Milan as his Chelsea days seem to be up.

Sarr is a promising young talent, but Chelsea are looking to sign centre-backs this summer too, leaving opportunities very difficult to come by.

The Blues are very keen on signing Maxence Lacroix when he has finished representing France at the World Cup.
