Marco Silva has emerged as a potential candidate to become the new permanent Chelsea manager, and could be the perfect figure to work with the experienced players the club want to sign.

Chelsea’s transfer policy has been the undoing of a number of their recent head coaches. Mauricio Pochettino recently admitted the lack of experience hurt his chances of winning any domestic trophies.

Behdad Eghbali recently spoke about the club continuing to sign young players, and admitted that they had made some mistakes over the last few seasons that they were looking to address.

Out of the managers we have been linked with, which one do you think might be able to get the very best out of Cole Palmer again?👀

Marco Silva’s ability to work with experienced players makes him the perfect Chelsea candidate

The decision on who comes in as the new manager will likely be with this in mind, and Marco Silva’s time working with experienced heads could give him a real advantage.

They are ultimately having a very good season under the Portuguese boss, and have enjoyed very solid campaigns throughout his time in charge.

During this time, Silva has built his side around the likes of Willian, Andreas Pereira, Alex Iwobi and Raul Jimenez – all players who had Premier League experience under their belts before moving to Craven Cottage.

It is fair to say that these have by no means been the best players in the league, but the relationship between the coach and the experienced players is something that Chelsea will certainly want to take note of.

Would you take any of these Premier League managers at Chelsea?

Marco Silva’s thoughts on his future

Despite Chelsea keen to open talks with Silva regarding potentially replacing Liam Rosenior, there is currently no guarantee he is available.

It has been claimed that Fulham expect their manager to sign a new deal that will keep him at the other West London club beyond this season.

Sam Allardyce actually urged Silva to reject the job if the opportunity comes his way. Chelsea do not have the best recent track record with their managers.

Chelsea fans are beginning to lose all faith in the ownership and their decision making, and selecting the right manager could be their last chance at winning some of those supporters back.
