Chelsea and Enzo Maresca managed to finish April quite strongly, winning their final two Premier League games of the month.

Chelsea beat both Everton and Fulham, with Pedro Neto producing one of the team’s moments of the season against the latter.

Neto scored a fantastic winning goal in that London derby that has helped to keep the Blues in contention for a Champions League place.

Maresca will now be hoping for an even better month in May, and this is how the Chelsea manager will want things to pan out.

Chelsea qualify for the Champions League

Chelsea’s main goal going into the season was qualifying for the Champions League, and they still have a chance to do that.

Maresca’s men are currently in fifth place, which is where they want to be. Thanks to the performances of English clubs in Europe this term, fifth will guarantee Champions League football for the 2025/26 campaign.

While sixth-placed Nottingham Forest have a game in hand, Chelsea still have to play them and Newcastle United, who are also fighting for a spot in the top five. Maresca will be eyeing wins against both clubs and ultimately qualification for Europe’s elite competition.

Blues win Conference League

The Conference League final will take place in Poland after the conclusion of the Premier League campaign, and Chelsea are expected to make it to Wroclaw.

The Blues face Djurgardens in the semi-finals and then will have to play either Fiorentina or Real Betis in the final if they manage to make it. Maresca’s first piece of silverware as Chelsea boss may not be too far away, then.

Chelsea close in on Dean Huijsen and Liam Delap deals

Off the pitch, Maresca will be hoping for Chelsea to complete most of the groundwork needed to sign Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.

As things stand, Chelsea have the edge in the race for Huijsen, while The Chelsea Chronicle has also been told that they are the favourites to land Delap.

If all of the above happens, this could end up being a very beautiful month for Maresca.
