‘Talented’ Chelsea star could now push for summer exit despite ‘good relationship’ with Enzo Maresca

Enzo Maresca may not have the best relationship with Chelsea supporters right now, but his players definitely seem to like him.

For example, Levi Colwill has spoken highly of Maresca this season, in contrast to some Chelsea fans who have been very critical of the 45-year-old.

During the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town last month, Chelsea supporters started to turn on Maresca after watching their team go 2-0 down.

Things have improved since then, while Colwill is not the only player at Stamford Bridge that remains on good terms with Maresca. However, being on good terms may not be enough to prevent one Chelsea star from leaving west London this summer.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could push for Chelsea exit

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall only arrived at Chelsea last summer, but the midfielder could already be heading for the exit door.

In January, Everton held an interest in Dewsbury-Hall, and that interest does not look to have gone away.

According to TEAMtalk, the Toffees are considering making an approach for the 26-year-old in the summer, and he may very well be open to a move to Merseyside.

The same outlet claims that despite having a “good relationship” with Maresca and being valued at Chelsea, Dewsbury-Hall could push for a transfer this summer.

He has really struggled for game time this season, making just two starts in the Premier League.

With Andrey Santos and Dario Essugo set to link up with the Chelsea squad next season, Dewsbury-Hall could see even fewer opportunities in the 2025/26 campaign.

Santos has been putting up Moises Caicedo numbers, so you would expect him to be above Dewsbury-Hall in the pecking order if both players are at Stamford Bridge next term.

Joe Cole thinks Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is a ‘talented footballer’

Despite his lack of action this season, Joe Cole is still a fan of Dewsbury-Hall and thinks he has too much talent to be sitting on Chelsea’s bench.

When Cole spoke about Dewsbury-Hall after one Conference League game in March, he said: “He’s too good a player to be playing 10, 15 games at his age… He needs to play football because he’s such a good talented footballer.”

All in all, given the midfield options that Chelsea already have and who could arrive in the summer, a transfer probably would be best for Dewsbury-Hall.
