After a disappointing year, Chelsea supporters are feeling quite optimistic heading into the new season.

That is largely down to the arrival of Xabi Alonso as manager and the signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.

Chelsea beat Arsenal to Rogers’ signature without having Champions League football, making the attacking midfielder a bit of a coup.

So, amid all the optimism, what would a dream 2026/27 campaign look like for Chelsea fans?

Alonso’s main objective will be getting Chelsea back into the top four and ultimately into the Champions League.

Yes, the ultimate dream would be winning the Premier League title, but that is just not a realistic aim right now.

Chelsea finished 33 points behind champions Arsenal last season. It is going to take more than one year to close the gap.

Chelsea supporters would just be happy to see the club return to the top four and Europe’s elite competition after coming 10th place.

Chelsea win FA Cup or Carabao Cup and end domestic cup curse

Chelsea’s recent record in domestic cup finals has been awful. They lost another one last term after losing 1-0 to Manchester City in the FA Cup.

It means Chelsea have now lost their last four FA Cup finals, while they are also on a barren run in the Carabao Cup.

In that competition, the Blues have lost their last three finals, not winning the competition since 2015. Fans will be absolutely buzzing if Alonso can end this domestic cup curse.

Cole Palmer silences his critics

Cole Palmer has a lot of doubters right now after a poor 2025/26 season, which ended up costing him a place in England’s World Cup squad.

Chelsea fans would love to see the 24-year-old rediscover his best form and establish himself as one of the Premier League’s top attackers again so that they can lord it over rival supporters. They will want him to remind everyone of how talented he is.

Most importantly, though, Palmer getting back to his best will help Chelsea to have a successful 2026/27 season and potentially put them on course to achieve something truly special in the 2027/28 campaign if he can maintain that form.

It is time for Chelsea supporters to put last season behind them and start dreaming again!
