Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has let slip a piece of early team news regarding N’Golo Kante ahead of tonight’s game against Everton – and some Blues fans are extremely excited on Twitter.

Blues manager Tuchel revealed in his pre-match press conference yesterday that Kante will take a spot on the bench during Thursday night’s Premier League fixture at home to Everton.

The 30-year-old midfielder will return to the match day squad after his recent injury absence, which has seen him miss several games with a knee problem.

He’s not played in the league since 20 November against ex-club Leicester City, so his imminent return is a welcomed sight for supporters.

Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have been holding down the fort as the only fit central midfielders, but they could soon have some much-needed extra help.

Kante news lifts Chelsea fans

A selection of Blues supporters on social media are extremely confident going into the Everton match after hearing the Kante news, albeit he’s already been named by Tuchel as a substitute.

It’s absolutely vital that Kante is not rushed back.

He’s only made 12 appearances so far all season due to various problems and it does feel like he’s becoming more vulnerable to small injuries.

There is understandably a lot of excitement when a player of Kante’s ability returns to fitness, but they can’t afford to be without him again for a long spell.

Chelsea’s Premier League title bid is already a mammoth challenge when you consider the teams they’re competing with and it could be impossible if they lose more key players for a sustained period.
