'Manager on the pitch': Some Chelsea fans noticed £50m man constantly talking to his teammates v Juventus
Chelsea supporters on social media were left feeling very impressed by Jorginho’s repeated actions during the opening half against Juventus last night.
Jorginho was pictured in conversation with Reece James at one point in the opening 45 minutes of the Champions League clash, something he repeated to do until the interval.
Whatever the Italian told his younger teammate, it clearly worked.
James ran riot down the right channel, causing Juve all manner of issues.
His crosses sent shivers down the Serie A side’s spine, whilst Wojciech Szczesny literally had his hands full all evening.
The Polish international’s palms were nearly taken off by the defender’s sizzling strike after the interval that put Chelsea two goals ahead.
Although the 21-year-old stole the headlines, a special mention must go to Jorginho, who quietly kept proceedings ticking over in the Blues favour.
Luckily, an observant fan spotted his leadership qualities and allowed everyone else to savour in the moment.
Here’s how Chelsea followers reacted to their £50 million midfielder’s managerial act:
I think what he does on the pitch physically, mentally for teammates is underrated for me. He’s judged very harsh only for those short passes…

Love seeing Jorginho in the Chelsea Unseen Extra clips after each weekend. Constantly talking, pointing and dragging teammates around. Great leader and we haven’t missed Azpi at all. These are the details Billy and Ruben don’t offer.

He does that on every game. He did it with Kante last game when I was there.

In Jorgi absence you could see Reece arranging the back the last 15mins yesterday
Great leader 😊

Master midfielder
If one member of the Chelsea squad was to make his way to coaching, Jorginho would probably be top of the class.
With intelligence in abundance, the 29-year-old paints pictures on the field very few other players can see.
He senses an opportunity or problem before it’s even occurred.
What Jorginho does may appear easy to the untrained eye, but those educated in the sport know this is far from the case.
The fact he can instruct others what to do, whilst also concentrating on his own game, is quite outstanding.
A future Chelsea boss? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet…
