Gary Neville was super impressed by Chelsea’s Cole Palmer in the dramatic draw versus Arsenal this weekend.
Despite starting Saturday’s game as underdogs, Chelsea gave a good account of themselves in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
First of all, Cole Palmer calmly slotted away a first-half penalty. Afterwards, Mykhailo Mudryk scored at the start of the second half when his attempted cross lofted over goalkeeper David Raya.
Unfortunately, Arsenal scored two late goals to rescue themselves a point in the Premier League. Declan Rice scored with 15 minutes to go after a poor pass from Blues goalkeeper Robert Sanchez gifted away possession. Leandro Trossard then netted an equaliser.
The Blues are now on a four-game unbeaten streak across all competitions, but it will feel like two league points dropped this weekend.

Chelsea waste golden chance
We’re now starting to see this young Blues side really take shape under Mauricio Pochettino despite the late collapse.
An interesting team selection from the Blues head coach today saw him start without a recognised centre-forward, which meant 21-year-old attacker Palmer operated in tricky central positions.
Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville really liked what he saw from the summer signing:
“Palmer’s position in this game is causing Arsenal real problems and he takes the shot early and it is past Raya, but also the post,” Neville told Sky Sports’ Main Event channel (6:01pm, 21 October).
He later added (6:58pm): “I have to say Palmer has been wonderful. He’s dropping deeper and dictating the game.”

Cole Palmer impresses again
Palmer definitely looks like he’s locked down a starting XI position for the foreseeable future, whether that’s in central or wide attacking positions.
The left-footed playmaker has now converted two out of two penalties since joining Chelsea from Manchester City.
In addition, the England Under-21 star is showing a real willingness to get on the ball to try create.
Speaking via talkSPORT earlier this month, Darren Bent admitted his surprise that Man City granted Palmer’s sale to Chelsea in the summer.
It looks like a really shrewd investment from Chelsea.
