Christopher Nkunku finally got to make his competitive debut for Chelsea.
He made it under quite frantic circumstances during tonight’s Carabao Cup triumph against Newcastle United, too.
The Blues are into the Carabao Cup semi-finals after Tuesday evening’s dramatic victory over league rivals Newcastle.
Mykhailo Mudryk’s stoppage time goal cancelled out Callum Wilson’s opener to send the game to penalties. We then saw Mauricio Pochettino’s side score four out of four to win the cup tie.

Blues debut
Christopher Nkunku, who’s spent the first half of the season on the injury table, must have been relived to finally get on the pitch for a competitive Chelsea debut.
The 26-year-old Blues attacker came onto the field for the final 20 minutes.
We didn’t see too much during his late cameo as he tries to get up to full speed, albeit Raheem Sterling overhit a pass for him on a dangerous counter-attack.
Nkunku showed his bravery to step up in the penalty shootout and take the third spot-kick, which he buried into the top corner with real style.
The Frenchman got such a loud cheer when he came on the pitch. There’s certainly a real buzz about seeing more of him over the festive period.
