Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk was a big talking point within the Blues fanbase last night after the important win against Newcastle United.

Chelsea returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 3-2 home victory over Newcastle on Monday evening.

Despite the inconsistent form this season, Mauricio Pochettino’s side picked up a vital three points yesterday to keep themselves as runners in the race for the European positions.

Nicolas Jackson’s instinctive finish put the Blues ahead inside six minutes before Alexander Isak’s equaliser late in the first half.

Thankfully, Cole Palmer restored the hosts’ lead just shy of the hour mark with his 13th goal in Chelsea colours. Then, Mykhailo Mudryk made it 3-1 by coming off the bench and making a huge impact.

Jacob Murphy’s 90th minute wonder goal turned out to be nothing but a consolation for the visitors.

Mudryk, 23, had to be content with a place on the bench again during the match versus Newcastle.

The rapid attacker was throw into the action for the final 20 minutes on Monday night, but that was more than enough time to make a huge impact.

He netted his sixth goal of the season, which turned out to be the match-winner as well. The Ukraine star showed lightning pace and close control to dribble through the heart of Newcastle’s defence, plus he went round the goalkeeper before finishing.

Speaking via Sky Sports during the live commentary of Chelsea vs Newcastle, Gary Neville praised Mudryk for his lively impact off the bench.

Chelsea fans agree on Mykhailo Mudryk

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media all agree that Mudryk’s impact against Newcastle should earn him more starts in the club’s upcoming fixtures.

Here are some fans on X discussing Mudryk last night:
