Chelsea fans have not held back after watching Enzo Maresca’s men lose 2-0 to Newcastle United.

It was arguably their worst performance of the season so far, with Alan Shearer not impressed with how they gambled with the ball at the back.

The above saw Alexander Isak put his side in front, and Chelsea never managed to recover from that point.

Chelsea fans believe Nicolas Jackson is better than Isak, but the 23-year-old was not there to rescue the Blues last night. Maresca decided to rest Jackson for the Carabao Cup tie.

Chelsea fans slam Joao Felix

Chelsea supporters have really torn into Joao Felix following his performance against Newcastle.

The £45m forward has done well for Chelsea overall in the cup competitions this season, recently grabbing a brace in the Conference League. But fans did not like what they saw from him at St James’ Park.

And finally, @Cfc_Sai said: “Joao Felix, this performance was absolutely horrifying, and I’m not surprised at all. He is just mid, no intelligence or care for the team.”

Felix is yet to start a game in the Premier League for Chelsea this term, and he did not do enough for that to change on Sunday.

Joao Felix wasteful against Newcastle United

Felix will be disappointed with his display at St James’ Park. The 24-year-old had a great chance to score in the second half, which he wasted. He just did not have his shooting boots on last night.

According to Sofascore, to go with his one big chance missed, Felix also had two of his shots blocked and another two go off target.

Playing as a No.10, in effect, Felix is competing with Cole Palmer for a spot in the team. Given the form that Palmer is in, it is a battle that the Portuguese is never going to win.

However, with performances like the one last night, he is not even giving himself a chance. It has been claimed that Maresca actually wanted a centre-back instead of Felix in the summer.
