Christopher Nkunku had a lot of Chelsea fans talking during the Blues’ 0-0 draw with Brentford on Sunday afternoon.
With Nicolas Jackson fit again, Nkunku was a bit of a surprise inclusion in the side. The Frenchman got the nod ahead of his teammate to lead the line, but in the end it was not a tweak that worked out.
Enzo Maresca dragged Nkunku off at half-time and replaced him with Jackson, with the 27-year-old blowing his chance.
Nkunku has been heavily linked to Bayern Munich, but a move to the Allianz Arena does not look like it will be straightforward.

Chelsea fans furious with Christopher Nkunku’s performance
Some Chelsea supporters would probably not be sad to see Nkunku join Bayern or another club this summer.
They were not happy with his display against Thomas Frank’s side and took to X to make that clear.
One Chelsea fan said: “This Nkunku guy is getting so annoying, no pressing, no effort at all.”
Another posted: “It’s actually impressive how rubbish Nkunku is and you still have people who think if he was positioned elsewhere he’d miraculously control the ball better, pass better, shoot better, actually make runs or press.”
One Chelsea supporter actually predicted that the Blues would not score with Nkunku on the pitch. They said: “We’re simply not scoring if Nkunku stays in this game lol so when are we taking him off?”
And one Chelsea fan claimed that Nkunku is one of the worst forwards to have played for the club. They wrote: “Nkunku gotta be top 5 worst strikers I’ve seen for this club, maybe even top 3.”
This is not the first time that the France international has come in for criticism this season. Nkunku was described as “absolutely redundant” by former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino last month.

Christopher Nkunku’s numbers against Brentford
Nkunku’s statistics from Chelsea’s latest London derby really do show that the former RB Leipzig man had a game to forget.
He managed to register just one shot during his time on the pitch, while that opportunity went down as a big chance missed.

You would now expect Jackson to return to Chelsea’s starting XI for the club’s next Premier League game, which is against Ipswich Town at Portman Road next Sunday.
The Blues have already lost to Kieran McKenna’s side this season, so whoever starts up front needs to put in a good performance, or else the team could find themselves in real trouble.
